When we ask people if they would become members of the Minnesota Farriers Association, we're often asked the question - "What do I get for being a member?". That's a reasonable question if you're purchasing a product, but the MNFA is not trying to sell you a product. We are giving you an opportunity to join with us by contributing a $30 membership fee so we can pool those resources and educate farriers and horseowners about proper hoofcare. None of us has the time nor the inclination to do this important educating by ourselves but together we can fund willing volunteers to do the job.
Some other benefits of membership are:

Contact with other farriers who are interested in expanding their knowledge and skills in the farrier trade.

Notification of upcoming events. Each year, the MNFA will be offering classes to assist farriers who are attempting to pass AFA certification tests and holding clinics involving advanced forging skills, tool making and maintenance. We also deal with lameness issues and hold "Fun Forging" get-togethers to learn how to make forged gifts like hoof picks and bottle openers.

Invitations to participate in monthly hands-on gatherings to work at the forge.
